Welcome to the IEEE Body of Knowledge on Services Computing Portal! You may have known, "The U.S. economy has changed in other ways as well. The population and the labor force have shifted dramatically away from farms to cities, from fields to factories, and, above all, to service industries. " (Source). IEEE Services Computing Community is a multi-disciplinary group whose purpose is to advance and coordinate work in the field of Services Computing carried out thorughout the IEEE in scientific, standard, literary, and educational areas. As a professional community, we sponsor professional conferences, publishes newsletters &/or bulletins, edits magazines/journals, provides guidance to the IEEE community, as well as, helps coordinate academic and industry activities.

IEEE Body of Knowledge on Services Computing Portal is sponsored by IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Services Computing (TC-SVC). Web 2.0 technology is used to aggregate the papers and materials produced by the flagship conferences in the field of Services Computing. The key conferences, IEEE International Conference on Web Services (SCC), IEEE Europe Conference on Web Services (ECOWS), IEEE Asia-Pacific Services Computing Conference (APSCC), and IEEE Services Computing Workshops (SCW (part of Services Congress)), have formed the foundation of the body of knowledge of Services Computing.

Services Computing has become a cross-discipline that covers the science and technology of bridging the gap between Business Services and IT Services. The underneath breaking technology suite includes Web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA), business consulting methodology and utilities, business process modeling, transformation and integration. This scope of Services Computing covers the whole lifecycle of services innovation research that includes business compoentization, services modeling, services creation, services realization, services annotation, services deployment, services discovery, services composition, services delivery, service-to-service collaboration, services montoring, services optimization, as well as services management. The goal of Services Computing is to enable IT services and computing technology to perform business services more efficiently and effectively.

In November 2003, IEEE Computer Society (CS) officially approved Technical Community for Services Computing. In May 2004, it has been renamed to Technical Steering Committee for Services Computing (TSC-SC). In November 2004, IEEE Computer Society approved the Technical Committee on Services Computing (TCSVC), which is a multi-disciplinary group whose purpose is to advance and coordinate work in the field of Services Computing carried out throughout the IEEE in scientific, engineering, standard, literary and educational areas.

This IEEE Body of Knowledge on Services Computing Portal will provide a new expanded channel to share the latest research results in Really-Simple-Syndication (RSS) technology. As a member of the IEEE Services Computing Community, you can publish your presentations in PowerPoint or PDF format for your papers. This portal also allow you to publish Podcast and VideoCast so you can publish your audio presentations or video presentations which are associated with your papers published in the proceedings of ICWS, SCC, ECOWS, APSCC, and SCW.

Tutorials, online-courses, and standards will also be published on this portal.
